The following are a list of services
that are available through the Pennsylvania CareerLink system.
Area Agency on Aging
Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) provide employment
services to individuals ages 55 and older. AAAs also coordinate
many other services for individuals ages 60 and older such as,
home delivered meals, senior centers, transportation, home care,
adult day care, legal assistance, and others. AAAs provide
information to older Pennsylvanians and their caregivers about
the availability of local aging services.
Bureau of Employer and Career
Services
The Bureau of Employer and Career Services
provide services to link qualified job seekers with employers.
They also provide a wide range of related services that include
Unemployment Compensation, Career Resource Areas, and Labor
Market Information.
Education and Training
The Pennsylvania Department of Education develops
and administers educational policies to improve the quality of
education in Pennsylvania
Employment and Training (Local
Workforce Investment Area)
The Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) is a
partnership between government and employers providing training
services for job readiness to promote business activity. Click

Labor Market
Information
The Center for Workforce Information & Analysis
will provide labor market information and services needed for
customers to make informed choices in their workforce-related
decision-making. Pennsylvania's Labor Market Information System
includes data on population, labor force, income, wages,
industry/occupation and employer information as well as
education-related statistics.
Office of Equal Opportunity
The Office of Equal Opportunity provides guidance to Job
Seekers, Employers and Training Providers on issues including
the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of race, color,
religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, political
affiliation or belief.
Office of Vocational
Rehabilitation (OVR)
The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation provides
individualized services to assist people with disabilities to
pursue, obtain, and maintain satisfactory employment.
Pennsylvania (Economic and
Workforce Development)
A public-private partnership, providing
information on the many factors that businesses consider when
making location and investment decisions.
Unemployment
Compensation
Unemployment Compensation is a form of job
insurance. It protects you against income loss if you lose your
job through no fault of your own. If you qualify, you will
receive money to help you meet expenses until you get another
job.
Veteran Services
The State of Pennsylvania has been provided with
funds to assist Veterans in finding jobs. Veterans employment
representatives at all Pennsylvania CareerLink offices or
participating agencies provide free job counseling, training
referrals, and placement services to veterans. Eligible veterans
are given priority in the referral to job openings and training
opportunities. Disabled veterans are given the highest priority
in referrals. Employment offices also assist veterans by
providing information about unemployment compensation, job
marts, and on-the-job and apprenticeship opportunities.
Welfare Services
The Department of Public Welfare determines
eligibility for Medical Assistance, Food Stamps, and Cash
Assistance.
