American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
The American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law by President Obama
on February 17, 2009. The Recovery Act provides extensive
supplements to the existing Workforce Investment Act programs.
Funds will be made available from the federal government to
expand the Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth programs that are
geared toward stimulating the economy and preparing the
workforce for current and future employment opportunities.
The
Recovery Act Plan outlines CPWDC's plan to ensure full
expenditure of ARRA funding by June 2011.
As part of the goal of ensuring
transparency and fiscal responsibility for the Recovery Act
funding, CPWDC is providing regular updates including the number
of individuals served and expenditure information.
