Central Pennsylvania Green Jobs

Pennsylvania defines “green” jobs as jobs that employ workers in producing or offering products or services that:

• promote energy efficiency,
• contribute to the sustainable use of resources,
• prevent pollution,
• clean up the environment, or
• promote the reduction of harmful emissions.

Pennsylvania’s workforce policies have made the state a leader in creating a green economy. In fact, Pennsylvania is among the states with the highest number of green jobs. In Central Pennsylvania, those jobs are found primarily in these industry clusters:

• Agriculture and Resource Conservation
• Clean Transportation
• Energy Efficiency
• Polution Prevention and Environmental Clean Up
• Renewable Energy
