The Central Pennsylvania Gold Medal Initiative has developed a Parent’s Toolkit to help answer the many questions high students and their parents will have about making career and education decisions. The kit includes a wealth of resources, including information on making school count, how Pennsylvania State Academic Standards for Career Education and Work can affect the students’ school experience and exploring careers. We have also included information on “hot” jobs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and WorkKeys®, a nationally recognized skills assessment program endorsed by over 300 local employers. Equally as important, the kit highlights the role of a parent’s involvement in the process.
